Beginner Riding Lessons


Parent and Me Beginner Classes

Beginning each month on Saturday at 1:00pm a new group of students ages 4-6 learn to ride a pony or horse with the help of their parent. We will teach the parents what you need to know! This class stresses cooperation and fun as well as basic riding skills. No previous experience needed. New classes begin each month! Fill out an application form to reserve your space. 

Parents must wear closed toed shoes/Riders must wear closed toed boots with a 1 inch heel and long pants.  FEC will provide an equestrian helmet.

 

Youth Beginner Classes

Beginning each month on Saturday at 1:00pm a new group of students ages 7-12 learn to ride a pony or horse with the help of more experienced youth and a Certified Instructor. Participants will learn how to groom, tack, and ride their ponies or horses in the traditional Classical English style. This class stresses cooperation and fun as well as basic riding skills. No previous experience needed. New classes begin each month! Fill out an application form to reserve your space. 

Riders must wear closed toed boots with a 1 inch heel and long pants.  FEC will provide an equestrian helmet.

 

Teen Beginner Classes

Beginning each month on Saturday at 2:00pm a new group of students ages 13-16 learn to ride a horse with the help of more experienced teens and a Certified Instructor. Participants will learn how to groom, tack, and ride their horses in the traditional Classical English style. This class stresses cooperation as well as basic riding skills. No previous experience needed. New classes begin each month! Fill out an application form to reserve your space.

Adult Beginner Lessons

These classes have the adults in mind that would like to ride with fellow adults and away from the critical eye of the kids! Various times can be set up as either private lessons or in a group format. A minimum of 3 riders are needed to form a group. Riders will learn the psychology of the horse, safe ground/handling practices, grooming and tacking procedures, and basic riding skills in the Classical English Format. All lessons are taught by a certified instructor.  Fill out an application form to reserve your space.

Family and Friends Beginner Classes

So, your entire family and friends want to learn to ride? No problem! Make this a family and friends experience as children ages 7 and up learn along side their parents, siblings, and friends. Only 3 riders are needed to start your own group! 

Riders will learn the psychology of the horse, safe ground/handling practices, grooming/tacking procedures, and basic riding skills in the Classical English Format.
